Research cluster

Feedback

Members: Marie Dahlén; Niels Pálmi Skovsgård Jónsson; Siv Eberholst; Ana Brotas

Our Manus study program has developed new feedback methods, based on the Critical Response Process by Liz Lerman. Other members of the research group, including Hans Gunnar Brekke and Rune Obrestad, have also developed their own feedback methods. These methods, and several others that will naturally come into existence, aim to enable students to become aware of their own development as creators, as well as acquire significant skills as response providers and supervisors in their peers' artistic processes.

Building on the existing expertise at WIFM and HK, this cluster aims to further develop innovative and student-centered feedback approaches by researching students' understanding of feedback, the social dynamics in classes, and peer-to-peer methods. A key goal is to emphasize the process, allowing students to gain greater autonomy over their learning and creative development.

The cluster organizes arrangements and meetings to encourage faculty and student contributions and is working on a repository of feedback strategies and a digital toolbox with textual and audiovisual materials, to be featured on our online portal.
